I was always under the impression that Italians wore their best all the time and maybe some do. In Ceglie Messapica, you bring out your finest on Sunday’s. I had no idea and we arrived in Ceglie on a Sunday in our comfortable travel clothes.
Finest on Sunday’s isn’t like wearing your smart and sensible clothes for church. No, its high stilettos, platform heels, short dresses and a face full of makeup, though the older ladies might be sporting something a bit more modest. The town really does come alive on a Sunday…. after their siesta that is.
