So update number #3 ( a little late )
A motto I strive to live by:
“Follow the bread crumb trail of happiness”
Which literally means pursue what makes you happy, no matter how small. In doing so you gain a little bit of happiness, even if it’s increase was tiny. All these little things that make you a bit happier amount to bigger things that make you happier.
What’s Happened?
Jacob and I have been busy doing lots of odd little things this past week. We worked at a hotel for a short time, just earning some extra money until we felt content and that we’d rather be spending our time relaxing on a beach. I also wanted to have the flexibility to photograph and blog again. Jacob’s family also came to visit us, and we spent a few lazy days catching up with them.
We did manage to organise a boat hire again for the day. When you come from Australia, your thoughts on a slight swell is pretty minimal, but the Italians in Palermo had near heart attacks seeing us anchor our boat and swimming where the waters slight rise and fall was apparently scary to them. We enjoyed the coastal view and while walking into the ocean off the beach is great, I cannot express how happy it makes me to dive into the ocean way off the coast.
This week I found little time to blog and update and though you’d think I’d appreciate some time away from it, it actually made me a little stressed and anxious. Haha. I constantly enjoy finding new things to see and write about, and I even enjoy the editing and organising of the blog. I Guess its something that helps me really zone in and appreciate what has been happening. I enjoy being productive and feel stagnant otherwise. While I had chances to photograph, I found there was always something stopping me from capturing the moment how I saw it, or something would intrude on the image. I have to admit, I was feeling a little let down with myself because of this and it left me feeling a little unmotivated. On top of that, I spent a whopping three days feeling nauseous from either too much sun or motion sickness on the boat we hired towards the end of the day. Though feeling sick is no excuse, I hope this upcoming week will have something in store for the blog.
What’s to come?
So with my lack-luster week, I am hoping I can finally visit some of the places I mentioned in Update #2 and get some more posts and photos rolling out for you all.
The Utveggio Castle is high on my must-visit places. High above the city with its pink coloured walls, it looks pretty stunning.
Not a hundred percent sure, but we may be changing location soon. Either to another town a bit further away from Palermo, or to a whole different city, we have yet to decide.
