Update #2

Whats happened?

Hi all 🙂 Ok, so clearly my update posts aren’t a frequent thing at the moment, though I do want them to be. How often do you think I should do a little update post? Once a week? once every couple of weeks? Anyway, last update I was settling into Lipari and that adventure was just beginning. Well, If you haven’t already, check out one of the many posts I made about my adventures while there for a month.

Going to Palermo, there is only one ferry a day that makes that trip. So, up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 7:30am and catching the liberty lines fast ferry all the way, it’s a super easy trek from one location to the other. You can purchase tickets for liberty lines online or at any of their ticket shops near where the ferry pulls up usually. The journey from Lipari to Palermo is a 4 hour boat ride and considering the Mediterranean is usually 100% flat, I was not fully prepared for the massive waves and the high speed of the boat that had us lifting from our seats. Where the ferry docked was a little ways of a walk to the train station where we made it three stops then hit track works and had to catch a replacement bus. Now we’ve nestled into our new home for two months, Isola delle femmine (Island of females). Settling in has been a breeze, and Jacob and I are both so excited to see and explore Palermo city and the surrounding countryside.

What’s to come?

There are so many places I want to visit while here. The Catacombe dei Cappuccini, Palermo Cathedral, Quattro Canti and Mount Pellegrino to name a few! Jacob and I are also excited to hire a scooter and explore the hills. We have spied abandoned buildings on the peaks of some of these beautiful mountains. I have also glimpsed some really cute dress shops, so maybe some outfit posts to come. I’m currently brainstorming an idea for a post that I think will interest a few of you on “Doing as the locals do” So stay tuned for that also.

Two months in Palermo; what would you want to do while here? Or if you have visited or even live what is a Must do? Must eat!? Must see? Let me know. 🙂
