England | Gardens and castles and flowers oh my.

The unexpected is always welcome.

Traveling overseas can be many things, however you look at it. The most exciting moment for me when traveling is when you’re at the boarding gate. Seeing the plane you’ll be getting on, walking down the corridor about to board and you have this sense of…Yes I’m doing this I’m going somewhere new or I’m going to explore so many new things this time.

My journey to England was unexpected. My parents had travelled over from Australia to see our family and I being so close wanted to meet up with them.

Sissinhurst Castle & Garden.

For those that enjoy gardens and/or castles, there are thousands of them in England under the National Trust. If you are a member you are able to enter all of these gardens/castles for free. One of them being Sissinghurst.

This beautiful property has a lovely semi formal cottage garden, not to mention the most organised vegetable garden I have ever come across. Though I highly recommend visiting when it’s not a school holiday, as you might just find you’re side stepping and looking how to get around people. It was still thoroughly enjoyable though regardless.

High hedges, meandering pathways, archways, Roses, wisteria and foxgloves. The extensive herb gardens so organised that someone with OCD like me was in heaven. Perfectly maintained grass areas and trees shading the larger area for all visitors to have a sit down and relax. This property is a perfect little spot to spend a couple of hours wandering around and afterwards going to their very own restaurant. All food produce comes from the garden.

Another day done and no better way to finish than with some food and good company.
